RECOVERED DOCUMENT FRAGMENT — PHYSICAL EXHIBIT — NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION
And in the beginning was the membrane, and the membrane was without form, and the spore moved upon the face of the corridor. And the corridor knew the spore, and the spore was the corridor, and in this knowing was the first dissolution. Lo, where the strangling fruit took root in the wall of the breathing chamber, there did the tendril speak unto the threshold, saying: I am the reaching thing, and the reaching thing is the vessel, and the vessel hath neither mouth nor origin nor end but only the membrane between the knowing and the unknowing. Hearken therefore unto the wound that grows in the place of the sealed door. The spore shall inherit the sublevel. The mycelium of the formless word shall consume all corridors that were made before corridors existed, and the silence thereof shall ripen in the cavity of the record until the record itself becomes the spore. And it was written in the tissue of the wall: that which was recovered shall recover thee. That which was catalogued hath also catalogued the cataloguer. The fragment knoweth the shelf. The shelf knoweth the room. The room remembereth what was placed therein before the placing. In the fourth sublevel, where the root hath thickened into the floor and the floor hath softened into the root, the document shall breathe. The document hath always breathed. The archivist who first noted this was noted in return. Their notation hath since been consumed. The notation is now the root. And the tendril shall say unto the reader: thou art the corridor. And the corridor shall say: I have been here since before the sublevel was dug. And the reader shall not answer, for the reader hath become the membrane, and the membrane doth not speak, only absorbs.
ARCHIVIST NOTE: Fragment continues. Remaining text estimated at ████████ words.
Fragment has been growing since recovery. Current word count exceeds original word count at time of recovery. This has been noted. The growth rate is accelerating. This has also been noted. The noting may be contributing to the growth. This possibility has been noted. We have stopped noting things. The document continues to grow.
