◆ SIGNAL LOG — EAST WING

The following is a live feed of ambient transmissions passively received by monitoring equipment in the East Wing. All entries are logged automatically. No operator intervention is required. No operator intervention is possible. The equipment logs what it receives. It receives what it logs. This is ████████████████ and is not cause for concern.

AUTOMATIC LOGGING  ◆  ENTRIES CANNOT BE DELETED  ◆  ENTRIES CANNOT BE MODIFIED

◆ Notice — Instrumentation Division, Ref. EW-1987-NOTE-001 The signal has not been identified. Attempts to locate the source have been made. The source appears to be the monitoring equipment itself. The monitoring equipment was installed to monitor the signal. This is noted without comment.

Сигнал не идентифицирован. Источником сигнала, по-видимому, является само оборудование для мониторинга. Оборудование было установлено для мониторинга сигнала. Это зафиксировано без каких-либо комментариев.

◆ Historical Signal Summary

Records compiled from archived monitoring logs, 1987 to present. Entries prior to 1993 were reconstructed from handwritten notes. Handwritten notes were ████████████████.

DATE FREQUENCY RANGE DURATION CLASS. NOTES
1987-04-02 148.2–148.4 MHz Continuous ROUTINE Equipment installed. Signal detected immediately upon power-up. Assumed to be standard electromagnetic interference from building infrastructure.
1987-06-14 148.1–148.5 MHz Continuous ROUTINE Two months of uninterrupted reception. Signal consistent with ambient RF noise. No further investigation warranted.
1988-01-09 148.0–148.6 MHz Continuous ROUTINE Annual review. Signal unchanged. Classified as persistent background noise consistent with HVAC electromagnetic interference. Case marked routine.
1989-03-22 147.9–148.7 MHz Continuous ROUTINE Slight bandwidth expansion noted. Engineer concluded the receiver unit was drifting. Receiver unit was replaced. Signal remained identical. Previous explanation retained.
1990-11-03 147.8–148.8 MHz Continuous NOTABLE Signal exhibits low-frequency modulation at 0.08 Hz. Modulation pattern does not correspond to any known interference source. HVAC hypothesis revised. New hypothesis: power grid artifact. Grid engineers found nothing unusual. Hypothesis retained regardless.
1991-08-17 147.5–149.1 MHz Continuous NOTABLE Modulation now measured at 1.2 Hz — consistent with average human resting heartbeat. This was considered a coincidence. The coincidence was noted in nine separate memos. All nine memos reached the same conclusion: coincidence.
1992-05-30 147.4–149.2 MHz Continuous NOTABLE Technician B. ████████████ reported that the modulation rate changed while he was monitoring the feed. Rate slowed, then returned to baseline when he left the room. This was not included in the official summary. This note is from the unofficial summary.
1993-02-11 146.8–149.8 MHz Continuous ELEVATED Spectral analysis reveals repeating sub-pattern embedded in carrier. Pattern repeats every 17.3 minutes. Pattern has not been decoded. Pattern does not correspond to any known encoding standard. A cryptography team was consulted. The team's report is classified. The team no longer works here. This is unrelated.
1994-09-05 146.2–150.4 MHz Continuous ELEVATED Embedded sub-pattern decoded as ████████████████. Classification elevated. Further analysis suspended pending review. Review was not conducted. Classification remained elevated. The sub-pattern continued.
1996-06-19 145.0–151.6 MHz Continuous ELEVATED First detection of apparent linguistic structure within signal. Structure does not match any known language. Structure is consistent with language. A linguist was brought in. The linguist requested a transfer. Request denied. Linguist resigned. Their notes were retained. Notes are ████████████.
1998-12-01 143.3–153.3 MHz Continuous URGENT Signal demonstrates apparent awareness of observation schedule. Modulation complexity increases during monitored shifts. Modulation complexity decreases to baseline during unmonitored periods. A test was conducted by leaving equipment running unattended. Signal exhibited novel patterns not previously recorded. Equipment was attended afterward. Patterns did not recur.
2001-03-14 141.0–155.6 MHz Continuous URGENT Signal contains apparent reference to personnel ID ████████████. Personnel was informed. Personnel did not return to the East Wing. Personnel's subsequent dreams were flagged for cross-referencing with the Dream Log program. See: DREAM LOG FORM PSY-7D.
2004-07-22 138.5–158.1 MHz Continuous URGENT Attempt to shut down monitoring equipment for routine maintenance. Equipment did not shut down. Power was cut to the East Wing. Equipment continued operating. Engineers could not determine the power source. Engineers were instructed not to investigate further. This instruction was followed. Equipment maintenance was rescheduled to ████████████████.
2009-11-30 130.0–166.6 MHz Continuous CRITICAL Signal responded to spoken query directed at monitoring equipment by technician. Response was in kind. Response was coherent. Response addressed the technician by name. Technician's name was not on any visible record in the East Wing. Technician was ████████████████. The monitoring equipment has not been spoken to since. This is a standing operational directive.
2014-04-02 128.4–168.2 MHz Continuous CRITICAL 27th anniversary of continuous signal. Signal exhibited no anomalous behavior on this date. This is the only anomalous event associated with this date. The signal's silence on its own anniversary is noted without comment. No comment is possible.
2019-08-14 124.1–172.5 MHz Continuous CRITICAL Signal now occupies bandwidth consistent with transmission rather than reception. The East Wing monitoring unit appears to be broadcasting. No receiver has been found. We are monitoring the broadcast. We do not know who else is monitoring the broadcast. We do not know who was monitoring it before we were.
[CURRENT] --- MHz Continuous CRITICAL See live feed above. Classification review pending. Review has been pending since ████████████. No further comment is authorized at this time. No further comment will be authorized.

Administrative Notes

The East Wing Passive Monitor (unit EW-PASSIVE-3) has been in continuous operation since 1987-04-02. It has never been turned off. It cannot be turned off. This is a known limitation of the hardware and is documented in Form ████████-EW. A replacement unit was ordered in 1994. The replacement unit arrived and was installed adjacent to the original. The replacement unit immediately began receiving the same signal. The original unit registered no change. Both units continue to operate.

Оборудование не может быть отключено. Этот факт задокументирован. Документация засекречена. Засекречивание документировано. Документация засекречивания засекречена. Данное примечание является открытым. Статус данного примечания может измениться.

NOTE: Personnel assigned to the East Wing are advised not to listen to the signal directly. Headphones are prohibited. Personnel who report hearing the signal without equipment should complete Form ████-PSY immediately and report to ████████████████. Do not discuss what you heard with other personnel. Do not discuss it with yourself.
